'After reviewing Pentagon-sponsored studies, three scientists stated the Pentagon has skewed the results of the respiratory probes and is falsely claiming research shows that dust in Iraq and Afghansitan pose no health risks to deployed troops, according to USA Today.

Studies have been done to better understand why U.S. troops who served in Afghanistan and Iraq developed mysterious and severe respiratory conditions. Since the start of the wars in 2001 and 2003, USA Today reports that neurological disorders per 10,000 active-duty servicemembers rose by 251 percent, while respiratory issues jumped by 47 percent.

Scientists tell USA Today that researchers used a series of incorrect conclusions and used faulty research methods.'
