Memo: To all Staff at BBC TV Outside Broadcast Operations.

The Olympic organisers have worked torturously, emphasise torturously in designing a set of Gladiatorial Events and entertainments in and around the Olympic-Stade to run concurrently with a series of Tests of the Audiences', that's Your Audience's resilience when faced with Sudden Disasters.

In Recognition of and to Supplement to the Magnificent efforts being made by not only Foreign, but also a few of our own Armed Forces, during the event, we lean upon your professional training and encourage you apply yourselves, as if your very jobs depended upon it, to the work of interpreting events for the benefit of the viewing audience as they unfold before your ‘be it as it may’ disbelieving eyes; - with a passion and resolve appropriate to this Great National Event.

  Yours Reliably,
    General Lee Ivor Craven.
(Minister for Culture, Sports & Media)
