Is the U.S harboring one of the worlds most infamous terrorists?http://www.thehalsreport.com/2011/01/is-the-u-s-harboring-a-infamous-terrorist/Jon Lockton | January 11, 2011 | Comments (1)
Did you know Florida is home to one of the most dangerous international terrorists in the world; Luis Posada-Carriles. Posada, a former CIA agent was convicted of being involved in several terrorist attacks and plots in the Americas.
These plots include involvement in the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed seventy-three people;[1] involvement in multiple bomb attacks in 1997 which targeted Cuban hotels and nightclubs;[2] involvement in the Bay of Pigs invasion; involvement in the Iran-Contra affair;[3] and, according to conspiracy theorists, involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister has referred to Posada as “the Bin Laden of the Americas.”
He was trained by the CIA between 1963-1964 and was convicted in Venezuela for masterminding the 1976 Cuban airliner bombing. However, the US government refused to extradite Posada to Venezuela and the CIA continued to employ him in the Contra wars which claimed the lives of 70,000 civilians.
The CIA once described Posada as a reliable asset to the US government, and a man of good character who would make an excellent official in a post-Castro government. Others describe him as a CIA created Frankenstein who committed murders and caused mayhem.” [4]
Cuba’s state newspaper Granma accused Carriles of being a “psychopath” and “CIA hit man” who is part of a “brotherhood of killers” paid by the U.S. government. [5]
In conclusion, even though the US government continues to fight a war on so-called terrorism, it continues to harbor one of the worlds most notorious terrorists. Does this seem a bit odd to you? Tell us what you think by leaving a comment below.
