Washington, DC: Segregated TV Advertisements

Here in the US for the past few months a pair of advertisements on behalf of Washington, DC torism have been running, with one being addressed to whites, and another to blacks.  Here's the one for the whites, which features a white family enjoying high-brow stuff to the tune of a Sonic Youth-inspired soundtrack (which is funny, seeing as the biggest Sonic Youth fan I know is black!):





Here's the one for the blacks, with an Africa-American couple enjoying black-oriented gigs to the tune of a disco soundtrack:

Just to make it perfect, the black-oriented ad always follows the white-oriented one.

No wonder Washington is known as the "District of Criminals"!
