Computer glitch leaves Barclaycard customers unable to use credit cards22/08/2010
A major computer failure left Barclaycard customers unable to use their credit cards yesterday.
Supermarket tills and petrol stations refused the credit cards.
When users tried instead to take cash out of hole-inthe-wall machines they found they were blocked.
Barclaycard technicians had managed to fix the glitch by late afternoon.
A spokesman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Barclaycard is Britain's biggest credit card with 10 million customers.
