Computer glitch leaves Barclaycard customers unable to use credit cards

A major computer failure left Barclaycard customers unable to use their credit cards yesterday.

Supermarket tills and petrol stations refused the credit cards.

Barclaycard technicians had managed to fix the glitch by late afternoon.

A spokesman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Barclaycard is Britain's biggest credit card with 10 million customers.
