According to a Founder member of the US Victory Motorcycles Group as posted on Startrek.com:

TV series live and die by ratings .

Enterprise only drew 2 million viewers average in it's last two seasons.

Not enough people to sell soap and coffee to for most companys buying air time for ads
.

The Ratings are driven by Corporate Advertising responses.

Star-Trek Enterprise was cancelled because of too few advertising opportunities for Corporate Slothes.
Lucille Ball would be turning in her Grave.
— She of course owned & ran the studio which single-handedly produced The Original Series (ToS) of Star Trek, which again was cancelled, back in 1969, just 3-weeks before the first human moonboot was planted on our Lunar Satellite, up yonder.

Star Trek has only been cancelled twice by 'for-profit networks' in its half-century existance.

Therefore the only way to have prevented the 2005 February cancellation of ST (ENT) would to have had the franchise owned by a non-advertising dependant Network - such as - Well, there are not many on The Planet; the only one that comes to mind, is of course Dear Old Auntie BBC.

So come on BBC! Get with the big plan, let's get the gears in motion; - for we're off to the stars, and Star-Trek has always been fundamental in laying the groundwork for mankinds' vision of actually trying ...

I say this in all seriousness because LET'S FACE IT.
— Unless the BBC do something of significance soon, their legacy will consist of sweet nothing.

Lucille Ball, original Producer of Star-Trek, featuring Bill Shatner.

Because the BBC are presiding over a return to a Pagan and Heathen Fear » Superstition based 'DARK-AGES', to supplement the already fading tarnish of the numerous Gold Medals won by Glorious national Heros at the olympiad
 - And meanwhile; the BBC Weather centre can't even be trusted to get a weather forecast right.

They are currently a waste of money and space, and that's why THE WORLD SERVICE of THE BBC was closed down last month, with £billions of assets being auctioned off ...

The BBC needs to do something representative of Post-DARK AGES significance, or it's over, YOU'RE DONE! FORGOTTEN!

The significance and the legacy of Star-Trek is I'm glad to say, one of a lasting influence.

Beneath all the CGI whoopla, flashes, Bangs and stage-set ''Blinkies', and need to please Advertising Revenue Book-keepers; StarTrek I believe, is not spawned from the protozoic-soup that is the BBC 'ideas workshop' and supposed agenda of alien invasion fantasies, but rather on the aspiration that mankind, one day might throw off the shackles of GROSS SIN, and therefore become qualified enough to explore Deep Space.

Of course such lofty aspirations of God-Pleasing proportions are not for everyone; Nay indeed, for a lot of humankind will be more than happy enough, and rightly so perhaps to remain entangled in lowly-lies originated here on the original Satanic Planet.

There can be no going to the stars with bad intent!
There can be no taking of the Inheritance of Cain, or the MO of Ghengis Khan 'out-there'

— No more metaphorical cull of the Buffalo nor of Indigenous populations.
That human race is on its knees and if it wants to continue thus, might rightly be said to be in that position  appropriately, and for a reason.
