I don't think, and I always ascert this, without any great amount of proof, but a lifetime of exposure to moderate strength e-m fields, that moderate long-term or partial exposure isn't a way to fuddle your brain, mess your genome, develop autism or contract cancer.
Sure when we transmit electromagnetic waves into the 'ether' as the victorians would have conceived it, we are infact adding to and increasing the natural background of em. We are also modulating an already existant Quantum energy rhealm of 'virtual-particles' (photons & electrons) in the environment and ionosphere, but in there lays my conviction - we are merely modulating an already existant rhealm of space-time, not creating something new.
No doubt, close-up heavy exposure to µwave or some other frequencies is known to cause some level of detectable effect, over time. But I would say, at the risk of being ridiculed; it's a medium given us for use not abuse. I do hear from people who are personally otherwise of a different conviction but I as a lifelong non-professional, auto-dedact (self-taught, entirely) radio-technician, don't buy that all things are evil.
It would be convenient IMO, to hold such views, to a scare-mongerer or one who likes the idea of return to agrarian-retardation and feudalism, who can't see the advantages and forward steps we can make with the positive use of radio-telecommunications technology.
— And we are still in the early days of such technology's development, as there are other layers of space-time which can be modulated, in a similar way, by my convictions, and by my perceptions.
