THE Scottish Government is to establish a fund to help poor countries cope with the impacts of climate change.
Published on Friday 2 March 2012 01:27

The Climate Justice Fund will be launched this spring, aimed at addressing concerns that the poorest countries have contributed the least to the causes of climate change but are likely to be the hardest hit by the consequences.

Environment minister Stewart Stevenson said: “It is a travesty that it’s the poorest people in the world’s most undeveloped countries who are hardest hit by climate change. The onus is on international community to take action.”

Campaign groups said they were delighted by the decision.

Patrick Grady, advocacy manager for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (Sciaf), said: “Countries like Scotland secured huge economic benefits from the use of fossil fuels. It is only fair that we should pay our fair share to help the most vulnerable adapt to the climate challenges they face

The Front pages of the National Press here in Jock are Rightfully bemoaning the fact that The PRO-EUROPE, PRO-EU ZONE, PRO-EURO National Socialist Scots Government will be participating to the tone of an initial £1MILLION punt this Spring. But before you servants of Xe get the wrong idea, I'd just like to point out that I'm blissfully happy about this decision. ¿I mean we all only get what we deserve, right!?

The Press suggest that much of this Tax that will not benefit Scotlands' Poor and needy (and believe me, there are plenty) will go into the Bureaucracy behind this latest of the EU-ZONE carbon Taxes. Also, does this point a finger towards the path which will be trodden once Scotland wins its undeserved, unmerited and actually inappropriate 'independance' from the UK and goes to join the EURO, fully fledged?
