I've been thinking the same myself, of course. And certainly we cannot afford take our Predatory, Fearful, Angry, and indeed ambitious nature out there. We should go, if we must, and when it is permitted, to observe objectively the beauty of the creation of the Cosmos. The Eagle Nebula for instance would be a sight.

But we must leave a lot of our Military Industrialist ambitions at the door, so to speak. If we can satisfy the conditions, then I am for it. 'Let us just propagate the decent aspects ... not war, but peace' ... the Glorious gift of life' ...

Otherwise you ain't going nowhere, unless of course you already did, and they just don't know it, down here on the slave planet!

As a final adjunct. Briain has it right, obviously, because YOU DON't HAVE TO SCReAM and ShouT to get over this simple message. And it's not a political message. It's about what scientists call the Next Step in Evolution, what the Transhumanist may call the next step in the development of stellar civilisations.

On this issue, of the final frontier and taking all the crap to which we have been subjected, - 'out there':

This attitude to life for instance, we must leave 'at the door'.

Additionally, tomorrow STS-135 which will be the final Space-Shuttle Mission sets off on it's return to Planet Earth.

"
ATLANTIS HISTORIC LAST FLIGHT
Return 20 Jul 7:06am EDT
Vehicle: Atlantis, Mission STS-135
Will carry the Raffaello Multipurpose Logistics Module to the ISS

Remember the 14 lost astronauts on the 'death-trap' STS cargo transport system that has been the Space-Shuttle Mission. Challenger and Columbia of course. When The outcome of the Columbia Accident enquiry (CAIB) had reached it's conclusions, it omitted to mention that the entire shuttle project was designed for the US military. The 'bay' onboard the shuttle being designed for military satellites. The spacecraft piggybacks behind the boosters making it vulnerable to both SRB explosions (1986) and debris impact (2003) with no chance of escape for the astronauts. The STS remains a death-trap.

... And just as if to rub the balm in, the last act of the Space Shuttle and final STS-135 mission was to launch a 'picosat' for the US Department of Defense.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how we came to ruin the reputation of nation states ... But is this attitude what we'd want to take into space?

Venusians, Martians, and Saturnians, at least the humans living on, and under, all 3 planets don't want Earth people in space much like you wouldn't want someone straight out of Compton living next door to you.

Or: Human Deep Space Programme, and Mars Base Cancelled (imagined headline on 'Venus' (Gas giant)).

Venus has the same atmosphere as Earth.

Kinetic energy band readings are not indicitive of actual surface temperatures.

Earth has KE band temps of 600 to 1200 degrees F.

So yes the NASA data on Venus is phony.

The capital city on Venus is called Retz.  The place called Shamballa/Shangrila is actually a Venusian Embassy to bring Venusians to Earth to acclimate before going on their away missions.  They do it in the Himaylayas so as to make it hard for any Earth based interference.
