Missed Opportunity on "Known Universe"

In the episode of "Known Universe" entitled "Decoding the Skies", there is a discussion of various ancient monuments which serve as calendric observatories, in the course of which diiscussion mention is made of the fact that Stonehenge is about 4500 years old, while the Pyramid of Khufu was built around 2500 BC.

Didn't it occur to anyone that 2500 BC is 4500 years ago?

What a great opportunity this would have been to explore possible reasons for the approximately simultaneous construction of such monuments by such different societies in different parts of the world.

I'll try to find out on my own and post any results here later.
