Reminiscent of 'Crimson Tide' which was based on a true timeline of events? Probably just an irate rating who got ticked off by the weapons engineer, who he shot dead, wounding another. Likely the 22yr old rating was complained at for not knowing how to clean his weapon, or something ...?

But there's a developing Zeitgeist or Mythology of story telling around the subject of Chaos breaking out on the volatile undersea world of Nuke Subs. Could this infer, statistically, that eventually, the ultimate catastrophe of a rogue missile launch taking place, may actually happen. Remember, once a meltdown at a nuclear reactor was a distant statistical risk, now we've had a least 2 at once. Therefore, projecting out, it's just a matter of time before some idiot gets the lauch codes and does the Jamie Lee Curtis.

It is the councillor, onboard RMS 'Astute' who was an ex non-ratings RAF officer who body tackled the shooter, 'My instinct was to make myself as scary as possible' he reported in the Telegraph.

And in the spirit of True British Vim, last nignt I overheard an interesting conversation between people seemingly in the know about certain things sub. This snippet details a certain event onboard a Nuclear Sub when PM Margaret 'the thatch' Thatcher was the visiting dignatory, back in the day, along with her armed bodyguard escort, who ended up in a barny with a senior member of Submarine Security.

Thatcher Visits Nuke Sub, Special Branch Batted Overboard, PM delighted Story.
