Napoleonic warriors find rest in Lithuania


The skeletons of 18 of Napoleon's soldiers have been laid to rest in Lithuania -- 200 years after the French emperor tried in vain to invade Russia.

At a solemn ceremony in Vilnius on Monday, Lithuanian deputy Defense Minister Vytautas Umbrasas said Napoleon's troops are finally "buried properly."

The ceremony also was attended by French Ambassador Francois Laumonier.

The remains of the soldiers were discovered by road builders outside Vilnius last year.
Experts determined the soldiers were members of the infantry, hussar and dragoon units,
that retreated from Russia in one of history's most catastrophic military campaigns.

The new graves were added to some 2,000 others found eight years ago during excavations in the capital of the Baltic state.

that he had stopped WW!!! from occurring
by refusing to follow an order
during his tour of duty in Kosovo.

Whose name should pop up,
mentioned only once,
but JAVIER SOLANA ?

As I had heard this name in the past,
but had no idea who he was,
I began to search and read.

After I picked my jaw up from the floor,
I tried to select articles and videos
that would be meaningful and useful.

This is actually my first thread ever.
So please do me a favour a read it ?

I would like to comment that
when I was studying traditional Chinese Culture
during my university days,
my professor reported a similar finding in Communist China
(as opposed to Taiwan and the then British occupied Hong Kong ).

Apparently early attempts to communally work the land were a failure,
similar to the colony at Plymouth
and for the same reasons.

Mainland China then changed their original plan
so individual families would literally reap what they had sown.

However,
that was in the early 1970's;
I do not know how farming in China is managed in this day and age.

I imagine the system may be similar to the agrobusinesses in the USA today.
