Title: BBC: Over 1.3 Million Brits gave up their cars 'cos of fuel cost'. Do as we say? Post by: Jonnie Goodboy on July 05, 2011, 03:34:39 am Not a driver myself, sadly, so I'm not in the know but the BBC is running as fact this headline on Radio and TV, I guess, (Again being a modern day ludite, - no 'boob tube'). But the lady at 'Which-Car' magazine tends to infer that maybe people are looking at lower fuel consumption vehicles, - by inference of what she says, ie that their website was up by 1.8 million visitors this year on the previous. So it's either ex-motorists ogling & drooling at 4-wheelers they can't own, or there is a genuine trend. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/More-Than-A-Million-Motorists-Give-Up-Cars-As-Driving-Costs-Continue-To-Soar-Says-Sainsburys/Article/201107116024005?lpos=Home_First_Home_Article_Teaser_Region_3&lid=ARTICLE_16024005_More_Than_A_Million_Motorists_Give_Up_Cars_As_Driving_Costs_Continue_To_Soar%2C_Says_Sainsburys_ But this report seals the fate of those alleged 1.3 Million ex-motorists, now condemned to bus seats, CCTV monitors, and stupid fat ugly passengers in the next seat.
