Title: Yet Another Problem with Science Television Post by: Bad Penny on June 14, 2011, 03:14:53 am I've just watched a program(me) on History International entitled: "Journey to 10,000 BC, which portrays paleo-Indians (i.e., paleo Native Americans, not paleo-Southern Asians) as having adult males with full, bushy, beards. To my knowledge (which may be incomplete, although, in this aspect, I doubt that), no full-blooded Native American male has ever been able to grow facial hair. This is the result of the same phenomenon which prevents equatorial Native Americans from having evolved black skin: the extreme constriction of the Native American gene pool to the extent that their adult males were incapable of growing facial hair and the entire population were incapable of evolving black skin in equatorial regions. It only seems to reason that, if NONE of the male descendants of the paleo-Indians exhibit the growth of facial hair, then their original paleo-Indian male ancestors must have been similarly beardless. Am I even making sense here? |
